Marketing, marketing and marketing AND Brands, Brands and Brands- unless you are a "Coca-Cola" or "Kleenex", you will need to Market your branded (licenses and/or brands developed within house ) and unbranded product , to strike the right balance . At the end of the day, the collection or items for sale could be the greatest thing in the world but if people don't see it and ultimately recognize , this endeavor could be for naught.

Licensing key Brands. And I am pleased to tell you that I am quite friendly with a few CEOs of the licensing world. I've signed up for 20 of licenses during my lengthy run as CEO Etc. Typically, there are ways to gain additional sales through one name and Licensing at a time I know this because I did deals like this with JCP and Kohl's Etc and so you really get your "bang for the buck" so to speak besides owning a meaningful brand in general which spawns business,(Kohl's Jack Boyle Robby Len / Longitude story). Build your private brands alongside licensed Goods so you can build up your private brands accordingly.

Building a B2B (and b2c websites ultimately) : I think that if you are in the apparel trade come up besides your main collections activewear where I consulted for about 18 months and the company and brands especially on Amazon outperformed in a big way. Activewear , mostly for women, whose penchant for activewear knows few bounds that from yoga to the gym to lunch to anywhere this is the most ubiquitous outfit today for the most important element injecting life into our GDP… not to be missed.
